I go to Caterpillar Ministries with the intention of sharing Jesus, but I have realized that they brighten my day and many times, they are the ones who share Jesus with me.  In such a simple, tender and very admirable way, the kids teach me more about Him every week.

Each week, I am challenged by a new perspective on a passage I thought I knew well, or by a thought-provoking question posed by a fellow Fellow. It’s amazing to dive deep into scripture with a community that encourages questions, differing perspectives, and new insights.

Our Bible studies, cultural hermeneutics, and divisive topic discussions always stimulate my mind, and I usually leave pondering some theological idea until my exhaustion from the day catches up with me.

Shanna and Carter have been so open with me about their relationship and parenthood, and it has been beautiful and unique to have insight into what I want for my life one day.

The Fellows Program hands you a community of people that are in a similar stage of life, meaning that everyone is coming from a similar place.

Every single concern I had about living with a host family has been relieved by God’s evident kindness to me. He placed me in the house of a family who genuinely wants to be part of my life.

I feel like I got to hear and share how our lives tie back to what Scripture is saying. I think this specific night showed a deeper understanding of the book of Ephesians as we unpacked “heavenly places”.

As I sat with them, laughing and learning together, I had a moment of realization that I was just simply having so much fun.
